After WW2 coach trips were arranged out of the village to beauty spots all over the country.

One popular trip was a tour of the Wye valley, along the border with Wales, about 60-70 miles from Eydon. Evidently a popular stopping point was Symonds Yat, on the bend of a gorge-like section of the river below Ross on Wye.

Here we see a group of Eydon Ladies in their summer frocks outside 'Ye Olde Ferrie' Restaurant, Symonds Yat on August 24th, 1947. Third from the left in the dark dress is Mrs Ted Coy, then Mrs Isham, with possibly Bella Rogers looking over her shoulder. The three younger ladies kneeling in front are (from the left) Joan Jordan, Betty Steel and Joan Phipps.
