At this time Sid was 75 and Lucy 72. Sid and Lucy continued to live at Fernlea until their deaths, Lucy on 2nd April 1975, aged 79 and Sid a few years later on 24th July 1976, aged 83. They are buried together in the cemetery on Culworth Road.
