A message on the back of the photocard of Roy which was given, not posted, which reads " to Charles, Lizzie, Frances and John"
Charles was Charles William Gubbins(1891-1979) husband of Eliza Ann Gubbins 1887-1975),  who was always called Lizzie by husband and family.
Elizabeth Frances Abbott Gubbins (1915- 2001) their daughter, who was always called Frances by family and friends, and finally John, her brother, Charles Alfred John Gubbins (1920-1978).
The card is thought to have been sent by Sarah Gubbins, the mother of Roy, sometime around 1930. As with the times, children were often given the same Christian names going through the generations, which at times can make it hard to keep up.
