Rev. William Lewis - Rector of Eydon from 1918 to 1920.
He came to Eydon from Mountsorrel in Leicestershire and died here - his family said of a broken heart, his two sons having been killed in the war of 1914-18. Their memorial tablet is on the south wall of the chancel in St Nicholas church. Contrast this picture, taken at the start of his ministry, with those in DK027 and DK045.
