Percy Tyrrell on his motor bike in the mid 1920s.
Percy was the eldest son of Joe & Flora Tyrrell and moved to London and worked as a tailor in Gresham Street. He married in 1909 and bought out a share of the business, but this failed. During the war he worked in tailors shops, altering staff uniforms. His hearing failed in his twenties, but he bought this bike and, by lip reading directions from his wife Harriet, drove with full confidence. He used to come to Eydon on Sunday morning, driving through London from Croydon on this bike.
