Pencil Sketch of St Nicholas Church, pre 1865

Naive pencil sketch of St Nicholas Church Eydon, from the south. There is a signature on bottom right corner, 'F(?) Cerrow (?)'. It shows the tower and church without the ivy seen in the 1830s and 1840s (KL038 and DK001 & 2) and also without the sundial over the south porch. It clearly shows the pre-restoration arrangement of a south porch and separate roof over the nave. The chest tombs to the east of the south door date from 1717, so the drawing must be mid 18th to early 19th century in date. There is no sign of the preaching cross.
