Here is the little boy from KL356 now grown up.

After various jobs, working in the Forest of Dean he worked on the railways as a 'tuber' – i.e. he climbed into the firebox of the railway engines and cleaned out the tubes after the journey, although he must have slimmer when he did it! He lived in Byfield, near the church, where his father died whilst visiting him! From the van and clothes, this photo taken in the 1950s. Martin died in 1962, aged 80.
