During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Stan Shenton ran a contact digger business with his JCB, doing groundwork for local farmers.

Here he is seen building a silage clamp for Rob Smith on the Preston Road (later owned by Jim Warren) Stan is building up earth banks to seal the sides of the clamp, although I an not sure that earth floor would be allowed now due to run off problems from the bottom. Not seen that much now as big plastic bales used instead.
