Born in 1898 and died in 1972 John Arthur Gubbins was the brother of Charles William and Phoebe Alice Gubbins.
He worked on the railways, as did his brother. He married a lady called Sarah nee Baxter from Basford in Nottinghamshire and they had a son, Roy. He, like his brother, moved to Nottinghamshire, John living in Gotham with his family. He worked on the railways all his life, at Rushcliffe Halt and at East Leake station where he was promoted to station master.
