Isaac Slater had a studio at 93 Mostyn Street in the Victorian seaside town between 1883 and 1895. From the internet, this design of back was being used by Mr Slater around 1890. That would make John Weston a young man when this was taken, possible to celebrate his majority in 1893, which looks right for the portrait.
