View from outside 46 High Street, looking south.

This was taken in the first decade of the 20th Century. The card is marked in white 'Eydon' and 'Chapel'. On the left is the shop and bakery, at this time owned by H Pick. Outside is the bakers cart and boy. Behind him are a group of ladies with prams going into Tyrrell's haberdashery shop. Group of onlookers include small boy in centre of road with jug, and even smaller boy at corner of Partridge Lane with basket. Methodist Chapel on right - note street light in bracket on Chapel wall. The wooden door on to the street, in front of the schoolroom, was the coke house to store fuel for the tortoise stoves.
