Looking north up Lime Avenue, we see, at the top of Blacksmiths Lane, Gaya Cottage, with the white bulk of Batchelor's metal barn behind it c1964.

To the right, with the new pink roof, is the refurbished Rose Cottage. This cottage - which can be seen before work started in DK115, had the southern end removed, along with the old blacksmiths forge, to create Blacksmiths Lane some 10 years before.

This photo is one of a series taken of the village by Skyview Archives, copies of which can be obtained from them at mail@skyviewarchives.com quoting for this image J940-13.
