The picture of Fred Hannis as a boy with a lady is taken outside 43 High Street.
From family history we know that the cottage was at one time (c1931-1956) the home of Arthur & Leah Cleaver. The Cleavers were relatives on Fred’s mother’s side so this is probably his aunt Leah. We guess, by Fred’s age, that the photo was taken quite early in the 1930’s – job to tell sometimes with boys as they often wore short trousers until well into their teens.
