High on a wall of the barn at the top of Partridge Lane, is a fragment of an old horizontal square, scientific sundial which has been re-used as a building stone.
The photo has been turned on its side so that the numbers (7 missing) 8, and 9 can be read. These are in clockwise order showing this was originally a horizontally mounted sundial, not wall mounted as in the rest of the village. Interestingly, although there is space for a line for 10 o'clock, no line has been drawn, suggesting that this is the afternoon part of the dial.
