Fernlea Cottage, Hill View in the 1930s, with Kenneth and Wynn Edwards in the doorway.

Sid and Lucy Edwards bought Fernlea circa 1926 for £100, by which time they had two children, Wynn born 1920 and Kenneth, born 1925.

Sid was a guard on the railway, working out of Woodford Halse. It was this work that brought the family to the village. In this view Ken looks about 6 or 7 years old, so the photo might have been taken in the early 1930s. The roofs of Stoneleigh are in the background.
