The fancy dress contestants line up for inspection at Eydon Fete, 1961, marshalled by Eddie Wilks, who seems to be having trouble getting the smallest girl in line.

The contest was won (see KL164) by the small girl with the white hat, Emily Buchanan, although nearly 50 years on, the fact that the the Rogers children usually came first with their 'OMO' costume still seem to raise hackles! Its wearer that year was Jill Rogers. The lady standing in the centre (next to the tall man) was Mrs Hickling, while the standing man in a flat hat is Harry Ward.
