Eydon Cricket Club's only cup win after the glory days of the early 1950s was the inaugural year of the Peter Strong cup in 1965.

The Peter Strong Cup was started to create more competition within the league. It was named after Peter Strong, a young player from Marston St Lawrence who was killed in a road accident. Eydon player Syd Gooden subsequently married his widow. Here we see Jack Hawes, 4 young men, Fred Phipps and Laura Preece, wife of Alan Preece. In 1963 she replaced Charlie Parish as scorer, along with Janet Flatters - later to be her sister in law as she married Alan's brother Richard. They, along with Pete Berry's wife Rosie, shared the scoring until at least 1974.

Kneeling we have Geoff Amos, unidentified, Biddle, the two Preece brothers and Syd Gooden.
