1905 Fire in High Street, from Blacksmiths Lane.

Fire fighters, with brass helmets, play their hoses on the thatch roof of the slaughter house. Behind them the roofless 18 High Street, home of the shepherd Thomas Rogers. Hoses run down the street from the pond in Eydon Hall Park. Lots of bystanders are watching the fire, including two small boys who look to be about the same ages as Thomas's grandsons, Albert & Frank Shurvinton. Copies of this were available as a postcard, published by J H Golby of the Post Office, Eydon.
