14, 16 and 18 High Street on the day of the fire, showing the roof etc. all gone with a fireman at the upstairs window.
The occupier at the time of the fire, on May 26th 1905 was Thomas Rogers, a shepherd and wife Fanny, along with Ruth and Frank, two (of their 10) children, along with his mother in law, Sarah Bonham, and Fred and Albert Shurvinton.
These were his 5 and 6 year old grandsons who came to live with them after their father was killed in the Boer War. (see KL105-KL108)
