Pre WW1 Maude Tyrrell leans against the crenelated north wall of the tower of St Nicholas' church.

In the background are the roofs of Manor Farmyard and Rectory Farm. She does not look entirely happy in this position! Maude was youngest daughter of Joe and Flora Tyrrell, born 1892 in Eydon. She became a teacher and married Fred Kench in 1921. She taught for many years at Woodford C of E Primary School (next to the church at Woodford Halse.) Maude looks in this photo to be about 18 to 20, so it might be taken in 1910-1912.
